The San Diego Comic-Con International 2009 is the 40th Comic-Con multi-genre and non-profit convention. This year, Stargate appear to promote its third TV show Stargate Universe planned to be aired on Syfy channel less than 3 month later.

The event Edit

The convention is held during 4 consecutives days between 24 and 26 July 2009 in the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. 126.000 visitors are expected[1] and more than 4.000 fans were present with the SGU panel in the Ballroom 20 of the convention center.

Content Edit

The first full trailer for Stargate Universe was revealed during the special preview night of the event[2].

On friday 24 July morning, a SGU panel appear[3]. The two executive producers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper introduce the new show with the main cast: Jamil Walker Smith, Elyse Levesque, Robert Carlyle, Alaina Huffman, Ming-Na, David Blue and Brian J. Smith[4]. After the panel an autographs session was organised for fans.

A second trailer was diffused, it's 2 minutes and 30 seconds long[5]. 3 promotionals photos of the cast were also revealed.

Moreover the reviews articles in GateWorld and the trip of David Read to San Diego, GateWorld Podcast n°53 dedicate a large part of the show to the SGU Comic-Con appearance[5].
