Stargate Hades is a Canadian fan movie which was filmed in 2006, and released online in 2010.

Taking place during the later seasons of Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Hades follows the adventures of SG-16, Stargate Command’s only all-Canadian team, as they explore a new world with new beings…yet strangely familiar motifs of Ancient Greece.

Production began in May 2006 in Buffalo, NY, USA. The film crew utilized the State University of New York at Buffalo's Baird Point placement as their set for Mount Olympus. Most filming took place in Southern Ontario, both in Decew Falls (near St. Catherines), and Milton. Filming ran from May through September 2006. Pickup shots were filmed in Milton in February 2007.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The cast is a mix of Canadian and American actors.
  • Several props were prop replicas or costume pieces from other science fiction franchises. Examples include a Sonic Screwdriver from Doctor Who and a Sandtrooper's backpack from Star Wars.
  • Planet PHX-1138 is an homage to George Lucas' film THX 1138.
  • Amost every main actor served as a background extra at some point in the film, most as Hoplite soldiers.
  • Despite the name similarities, there is no association between the film and the Hades Stargate website.
